Chromoskedasic Sabatier: Painting with Chemicals
Chromoskedasic sabatier is an alternative darkroom process where added chemicals and controlled light exposure interrupt traditional black-and-white development. The process creates unpredictable shifts in tone and color causing traditional darkroom paper to look metallic, rusted, or leathery.
This workshop focuses on painting directly with chemicals, encouraging students to let go of control and embrace chance as part of the creative process. Guided demonstrations will introduce the basics, then most of the time will be spent experimenting and making unique prints.
Participants who want to try incorporating imagery may bring a black-and-white negative (35mm or medium format), though it isn’t required.
Open to all skill levels. No prior darkroom experience necessary. All materials provided.
