We provide you the tools

Film development tanks and basic chemicals are available to use to develop your own black and white film. We have a black room to load your film.

We have four enlargers for rent. Basic chemicals will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own.
Our darkroom is 14’x19’ and can easily accommodate multiple people at once.

We are alternative process friendly. We are a bit scrappy, but we welcome any process you’d like to try out. Just reach out if you have questions.
darkroom hourly rentals
Prerequisite: Before renting a darkroom block, you must attend a Refresher/Intro Workshop. These will be held on Saturdays 11 - 1 or by appointment.
The darkroom is available for rental in 4-hour blocks. The available times will be monitored with a darkroom expert. To reserve a spot, you must rent the entire 4-hour block. You can choose to come anytime during those 4 hours. Once your block is purchased, someone will reach out to you to schedule your rental time.
DARKROOM MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS
A membership to The Seattle Light Room allows you 24/7 access to the darkroom.
An application and interview are required to join. You must have knowledge of how to use a darkroom safely. We want you to stay safe and we want others to be able to use the facilities.
